Welcome to a Club with a long and rich history! The Woman's Club of Glen Cove, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was originally organized in 1936, then reorganized as a Woman's Club in May 1938. In September of that year, the Club was admitted to membership in the Long Island Federation of Women's Clubs.

Our Mission

Our mission, as stated in our by-laws, is to promote Charitable Activities, Sociability and the General Welfare of the Community. It is imperative that we continue our work with the mission always as our guide.

The Club hosts two fund-raising events annually. Members and guests enjoy socialization and entertaining programs and activities while supporting the Club's charitable endeavors.

Christmas Party

In the festive atmosphere of the beautifully decorated Swan Club, there is opportunity to peruse the exquisite raffle prizes. After dining on a menu especially selected for this occasion, an extraordinary program of musical entertainment that promises to appeal to the musical taste of everyone will be presented. Guests are welcomed, reservations required.

Fashion Show Luncheon

The Fashion Show Luncheon is the Club's annual major fundraiser. While the purpose is to raise funds to donate to major charities in our area, the entertainment of the guests is an important consideration. The program “The 20th Century in Style, Song and Story” is presented by the Ms. Senior America members. Prior to lunch being served, guests can deposit their raffle tickets in hope of winning one (or more) of the many prizes. There are chance books, 50/50, and there is always the money hat that is designed in the theme of the show. The Club has earned a reputation of offering baskets that are beautifully presented with contents that have universal appeal.

Enjoy the fashions of the decades of the past century at this year’s fashion show.
This year’s theme is “The 20th Century in Style, Song and Story”.

This show is a major production that requires the time, effort and support of all of our members. Committees enjoy the camaraderie of one another to get the job done. It is always rewarding for their efforts to hear the rave reviews of guests. Since all of the proceeds earned at the show are donated to four or five major charities that service our area, members realize with pride the fruits of their labors as recipients accept donations at the June meeting. Guests are welcome, reservations required.

Becoming a Member



New members are vital to the future of the club. Women interested in joining the club attend two meetings as the guest of an active member. A letter of application is then written by the prospective member and a letter of recommendation is written by her sponsor. These letters are submitted to the Board for approval.

You don't have to live in Glen Cove to be a member. Club members live in Glen Cove and all of the surrounding villages of the North Shore's Gold Coast. Glen Cove is one of the two cities on Long Island. Historically the City has been the hub of this North Shore area. The charities the Club supports service the entire area as well.
